Browse the Archives, deposit items in the ‘Archive Amnesty’, sign up to record your stories for the oral (snigger) fetish history collection, sign the Subversion Guest Book & test your kink knowledge to win some wonderfully kinky prizes. Watch out for the naughty librarian; she may get you into all sorts of trouble!
Kinky Quiz Questions
Test your kink knowledge; answer the 20 questions set by makers of kink history Tony Mitchell from The Fetishistas and ex editor of Skin Two , Ishmael from the Firm who were putting on kink events back in the day when fetish was not so widely accepted , Mistress Absolute who runs the LFW and was the promoter of now retired club night Subversion and the kinky curator, Stef who will be making sure the answers to his questions are accessible only if you rummage around the archive.
Lots of the questions will be multiple choice but there will be a few tie breakers that may raise a few eyebrows….. There are prizes to be had for the entry with the most correct questions, including a pair of all event passes of the LFW 2020 plus some fabulous pieces of kit and there is a £100 voucher for latex shopping from Libidex too (only entries in person are eligible for the Libidex Voucher prize) …… and you can always come back to the archive on Saturday to finish it as we will still be accepting entries up until Sunday night via email……
Archive Amnesty
Have you got a stash of old kink magazines hidden away in the attic/back of the wardrobe/under the bed? did you trawl round alternative shops & collect fetish club flyers back in the day when that was the only way to hear about new events? Have you still got that video of your friends trying on latex that you artistically shot on a ‘portable VHS recorder’ for a uni project? de clutter your life and help preserve history by either anonymously* dropping items into the Archive Amnesty box on arrival.
Alternatively you can retain 100% ownership and just loan them to the archive or if you would like something to go in but not be publicly access for a few years you can embargo items for up to 50 years! Just go see head curator Stef Dickers when you arrive as he can arrange all that for you.
*any artwork which is not previously published (like flyers or magazines) needs to be logged in so you can sign to say you have permission or copywrite for any images
Be Part of History #selfie
Take a selfie in front of our selfie board or get someone to take one of you and post it on Facebook, Insta or Twitter with the hashtag #makingfetishhistory
Subversion Guest Book
Because of the untimely departure of fetish furniture maker, scene personality and a huge part of Subversion, collecting your memories on a guest book rather took a back seat….So….if you have ever been to subversion and want to share your happy memories of it with curious kinksters for years to come then please come and write in the ‘subversion visitors book’ which will say in the archive after the drinks night forever.
Whilst we would love to have only hand written stories in the book we do appreciate not everyone will be able to get to the archive; so if you would like a story to go into the book you may email it to either Mistress Absolute; info@subversion.club or Stef at the institute; (email address to follow)
